Since 1903, Local 213 has trained electrical apprentices. In 1968, Local 213 and the Electrical Contractors' Association established a joint apprenticeship program. The Joint Apprenticeship and Journeyman Retraining Committee has trained hundreds of electrician apprentices. It also provides programs that allow journeymen to keep current with the changes in their trade. Information about becoming an apprentice can be obtained by visiting the Joint Apprenticeship and Journeyman Retraining Committee web site. What is it like to be a construction electrician?
Since the early 1970s, Local 213 has also been instrumental
in training apprentices and upgrading journeypersons employed in the CATV
industry. Currently, the Local 213 Netcom Training Committee is providing
courses in two-way interactive cable/fibre technology and striving to provide
courses that meet the needs of our members and the training requirements of our
industry. |
