IBEW 40th Convention - Day Four

IBEW 213 Unit 2 Chair Sister Becky Lupton speaks to Amendment 7: resolution to change the name from the IBEW to the inclusive International Union of Electrical Workers.

Sister Lupton championed this proposed amendment and it inspired spirited debate on the convention floor before ultimately failing to pass. We are so proud of all Sister Lupton's work driving forward this constitutional amendment. While it did not pass this time the conversation is so important.

More from day four: delegates heard from labor leaders, newly elected IBEW officers and completed much of the business of the Convention. In a historic moment, Fourth District Vice President Gina Cooper became the first woman elected to IBEW International office.
