Pro-union Bill C-4 before the Senate: What You Can Do

Greetings:

The Federal Government's pro-union Bill C-4, which seeks to repeal anti-union Conservative Private Members Bills C-377 and C-525 is being debated in the Senate right now and we need this Bill to pass to help restore workers’ rights in this country.

Since the introduction of Bill C-377 and Bill C-525 our members have expressed their concerns with both pieces of legislation and contacted their MP’s and Senators to share their concerns; many using the Workers Build Canada web-portal setup by the Canadian Building Trades office.

Since our last lobbying efforts in the Senate there are a lot of new Senators that have been appointed and that’s why it is so critical that our members contact their Senators today through the Workers Build Canada website. We need to ensure that these Senators hear from us, and not just from the likes of Merit Canada, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Canadian Taxpayers Federation, or LabourWatch, who are all advocating to have the Senators vote down Liberal Government Bill C-4 that would repeal anti-union Bill C-377 and Bill C-525. We need to ensure that Senators hear from our members.

If you have previously signed up on the Workers Build Canada website you may have already received an email from them urging you to take action by sending a letter to your Senator supporting Bill C-4. I strongly encourage you to share this email and the Workers Build Canada website with our members and their families. It only takes a minute to complete this very important political action.

Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.

In solidarity,
