Province Announces Immunization Plan

Today the BC NDP along with the Public Health Office released the Province's COVID-19 Immunization Plan.

Immunization is already underway, with high-risk population already recieving their first, and some thier second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us all in extremely difficult ways,” said Premier John Horgan. “Together, we have faced this pandemic with strength, courage and compassion, and we are starting to feel optimistic that, one day, COVID-19 will be in our rear view. At every step, our plan puts the health and safety of our most vulnerable people at the centre, and when it’s your turn, I encourage everyone to get their COVID-19 vaccine and help us move forward, together, to a healthier province.”

With a science-based approach to vaccine roll out, the Province will continue to focus on high-risk individuals, followed by the general population in phases tree and four of the plan beginning in April.

The plan takes a modest approach considering further potential delays in vaccine delivery due to production challenges and world-wide demand. Citizens of BC could also see the plan accelerate as more other vaccine manufacturers have their vaccines approved for use by Health Canada.
