IBEW 213 was formed more than one hundred years ago to represent electrical tradespersons. It was the first Westcoast local of the IBEW in Canada, and it soon began to represent workers at Lower Mainland telephone companies as well as at the BC Electric Company, which was then in its infancy.

Today, IBEW 213 is one of five IBEW locals in British Columbia. It represents workers in every industry and sector. Our members are clerical workers, apprentices and tradespersons, technologists and technicians, and labourers who enjoy some of the best wages and finest terms and conditions of employment in North America.

Go to any of the pages listed in the lower left-hand corner of this page to find out why and how British Columbia workers join IBEW 213. Visit the EJTC web site for information about electrical apprenticeships or the NETCOM web site for information about cable apprenticeships.
