Negotiations at Ocean Construction Supplies has finally concluded, after nine months of bargaining, with a settlement on a four year collective agreement. Thanks to Les Schmidt for his participation in the negotiations and support throughout the process.

Shop Stewards are still needed on each and every job site and work location in construction. You do not need to have completed a shop stewards course prior to acting as one. Day to day mentoring is available. Members interested in representing the membership as a Shop Steward can contact Harry for more information.

Members that are currently acting as Shop Stewards must contact Harry as soon as possible. The Local supplies an IBEW 213 Shop Steward jacket to those Shop Stewards recognized by the Local.

Thanks to Dana Biln for taking on the Shop Steward duties at Cobra Electric.

We need to build a list of volunteers that would be available to wire and work on various community projects. If you are interested or need more information, give Dispatch a call.

Members working for Open Shop Electrical Contractors must contact Harry as soon as possible.

The Local welcomed 58 new apprentices into membership at the Orientation/Initiation meeting held on October 18th. For the apprentices that did not attend, please contact Glynis at the Union Office as soon as possible at (604) 571-6518.
