IBEW 213 Meets with MP Blaikie to Discuss Federal Labour Code

On June 17 we met with MP Daniel Blaikie, NDP Employment Critic, to advocate for federally regulated workers in B.C. to get paid leave for COVID vaccinations, same as workers do under the BC Employment Standards Act.

MP Blaikie listened to our concerns for our federal jurisdiction members employed in telecommunications, including the glaring deficiencies in the Federal Labour Code around anti-scab provisions and our calls for binding arbitration provisions in first-contract negotiations.

We thank MP Blaikie for taking the time to hear our concerns and look forward to him taking them to the federal legislature.
