Euro-Rite Cabinets

Many things came to mind when I entered Euro-Rite Cabinets’ new 135,000 square foot location on Airport Way in Pitt Meadows.  As someone who isn't easily impressed, I have to admit - I was impressed!  For such a massive concrete building, there was a feeling of warmth, friendliness, and family.  IBEW 213, has approximately 70 highly skilled members employed at Euro-Rite, all have a huge sense of pride in their work and it's reflected in the superior cabinetry they produce.

New Euro-Rite Location

Bill Longman founded Euro-Rite in 1982.  Bill was a Vancouver Firefighter and is no stranger to a Union environment.  He started building cabinets in his garage during his days off as a fire fighter - his attention to detail and craftsmanship was well received in the market and his business grew into a Canadian success story.  Bill and his management team genuinely care about their employees.  Bill implemented a Trust Fund for employees where the majority of growth in Euro-Rite will go directly to the employees.   Employee’s anniversary dates are celebrated, and staff barbeques are a fairly regular occurrence - by all definition, they are a team.

Euro-Rite's mission is to provide the highest quality product with prompt and friendly service, which is seen in their short product lead times.  Cabinets can be shipped within 48 hours.  Euro-Rite is the largest cabinet manufacturer in Western Canada, they manufacture bathrooms, closets, and of course kitchens. They have 500 dealers in Canada and 2 retail showrooms.  You can find their cabinets at most home improvement stores such as Rona, Home Hardware, Timbermarts, Castle, Federated Co-ops, and many independents.  Euro-Rite’s Project Team, provides cabinetry for new construction in condos, high rises and single family homes.  Visit their website for FREE quoting services and locating a dealer near you @ http://www.eurorite.com.

With the foreign market gaining ground quickly, Euro-Rite acted by consolidating their 2 buildings into one.  Their ability to adapt is one of the reasons for their success. Millions of dollars were spent to upgrade equipment to semi-automated and streamline production.  This state of the art equipment built in Germany has drastically reduced production time and time to market.  Euro-Rite has no intention of reducing their workforce as they automate, it's helping them gain ground in the industry quickly, at the moment the union membership is growing.

Euro-Rite is extremely Charity minded.  They're the top corporate sponsor for Down Syndrome Research Foundation, support the Orphan’s Fund, and several other charities.  Euro-Rite is also the major sponsor of youth soccer in Port Coquitlam with over 1800 young soccer players and 350 coaches. Euro-Rite FC, has raised $230,000 to help reduce costs in field rentals, jerseys, equipment, and provide professional coaching to grow the game. The program also provides equipment for families who can't afford soccer shoes, or shin pads so under privileged children can play soccer.  President, Chris MacKinnon says, "the more you support us (Euro-Rite) the more we can support others"- we can't argue with that!

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 213 has extreme pride in representing Euro-Rite Cabinets.  Euro-Rite embraces the union and their employees matter to them.  By supporting Euro-Rite you're supporting Union and your IBEW213, Sisters' and Brothers'.
